Grant for CAD Software (SolidWorks) - (Schools offering a technology subject at Junior and/or Senior Cycle).
Funding of €1030 has now been issued by the Building Unit, Department of Education and Science, to all schools that offer a technology subject to purchase the CAD software (SolidWorks). This software is a powerful design and communication tool and has many applications across the all the technology subjects including Construction Studies, Engineering, LC Technology, Materials Technology (Wood), Metalwork, Technical Graphics and JC Technology. Funding for the provision of hardware is not currently available to schools that do not offer DCG or LC Technology. However, high end CAD workstations from HP Ireland are available to schools under a new agreement.
