| Will SolidWorks 2009 run on Window 7 machines SolidWorks 2009 can be loaded on Windows 7 machines and in most cases the software appears to work satisfactorily. Our main concern is that SolidWorks 2009 is not supported for Windows 7 and compatibility issues may arise that we are not aware of. We recommend installing SolidWorks 2009 on machines running Windows XP if possible. If schools intend installing SolidWorks 2009 on machines with the Windows 7 operating system we would suggest a test installation first before proceeding to install the software on a range of machines. SolidWorks 2010 commercial is supported on Windows 7 therefore SolidWorks Educational 2010 / 2011 will be officially supporting Windows 7. |
Will Solidworks work on a Mac computer, or is there a Mac version available for download? SolidWorks is designed to be run on the Microsoft Windows operating system platform. SolidWorks 2009 is supported on Windows XP and Vista Ultimate, both Business and Enterprise editions. SolidWorks 2010 & 2011 is supported on these operating systems plus Windows 7. Unfortunately the software is not supported on the Mac operating system. |
