The answer is No. If you save a file from any newer version of SoldWorks the file cannot be opened by an older version as the format of the file is completely changed.
I gave students the school code in error to install the SDK on their computers. How do I rectify the situation
so that the students have the correct SDK code installed on their computer?
Before you change SolidWorks on the Student machine you will need to retrieve the School licence from the student machine. Open Solid works, in the Help drop down menu select Transfer licence as shown. When you transfer the licence you are deactivating the software on that particular machine.
A Solid works screen will appear with the code used to install Solid works as shown. Insert the correct
SDK code and follow the instructions.
The following error occurs when one of my students attempts to install the Student Design Kit on their machine?

My students are only able to get 30 days out of the SDK software and they told me that they were unable to register the software? What do you think is wrong?
The Student Design Kit must be renewed on an annual basis and I am wondering if you have given your students the new code for the Student Design Kit (SDK) which was sent to schools by Solid Solutions in May 2010. It would have been sent to the e-mail address specified by the school.

Is it possible for me to burn a DVD to give to my students as some of them do not have quick internet access?
The SDK disk which was provided during the Professional Development sessions in January/March 2010 can be copied and given to students to install on their computers. This will eliminate the need to download the SDK from the Internet. We would recommend that a copy of this disk should always be kept in the school in case of loss or damage.
Will my students in Transition year who downloaded the software be able to download it again in when in 5th and 6th year onto the same machine or is the licence a one time download?
Your Transition Year Students will be able to reactivate the software on an annual basis when they move on to 5th & 6th year. See queries above for more details on the SDK.
